University Assistant Post-Doc (all genders)

At the Institute of Logic and Computation, in the Research Unit of Formal Methods in Systems Engineering TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (post-doc) until expected 31.12.2026 for 40 hours/week. Expected start: July 2026. This position is embedded in our Data Sovereignty Cluster on “Automated Reasoning.”

Tasks:

  • Deep interest in practical aspects of automated reasoning and scalable reasoning infrastructures
  • Independent teaching or participation in teaching and supervision of students
  • The ability to develop tool, methods and algorithms for automated reasoning
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks of the research division and the faculty in the area of automated reasoning

Your profile:

  • Completion of an appropriate doctorate and in-depth knowledge of the subject area
  • Experience in national and international research cooperation as well as in project management and presentations
  • Leading expertise in devising and managing competitive infrastructures for automated theorem provers (ATP)
  • Leadership in research, development, and deployment of ATP competitions
  • Experience in teaching and publication activities
  • Organizational and analytical skills as well as a structured way of working
  • Excellent command of the English language and very good communicative skills and team competences

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 5,014.30/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
