In the International Welcome and Engagement Center (IWEC), TU Wien is offering a position as student employee (all genders) in research/administration for 20 hours/week (starting from 10 hours per week possible). Expected start: April 2026. This position is limited until expected December 31st, 2027, but no longer than the completion of a master's or diploma degree.

About IWEC: The International Welcome and Engagement Center (IWEC) supports international degree-seeking students, staff, and guests as they transition to TU Wien and life in Vienna. Beyond arrival and orientation, IWEC develops programs and initiatives that promote long-term integration and strengthen a sense of belonging within the university community. Through a focus on internationalization at home, IWEC contributes to an inclusive and well-connected environment for international members of TU Wien.

Tasks:

Main Responsibilities 

Outreach and Marketing 

  • Creation and curation of print and digital materials such as flyers, website content, and social media posts
  • Assistance with the development and implementation of an IWEC newsletter for members of the international community at TU Wien 
  • Promote IWEC at university-wide events
  • Liaise regularly with representatives of the HTU, Fachschaften, departments, and other central units at TU Wien to increase the visibility and impact of the department



Event Planning and Assistance 

  • Support the International Student Services Coordinator with the ongoing development of social programming aimed to connect international degree-seeking and domestic students 
  • Support the International Staff Services Coordinator with the ongoing development of programming to welcome new international staff members and international guests 
  • Assist with IWEC events, such as international student and staff orientations, and campus-wide welcome programming 



Administrative and Advising Support 

  • Administratively support the implementation of an advising appointment booking system
  • Assist in advising international degree-seeking students regarding general administrative and social inquiries 
  • Other duties pertaining to the operations and implementation of IWEC as assigned 

Your profile:

  • Enrollment as bachelor’s or master’s / diploma student at TU Wien; no completed master’s or diploma degree in the field
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Professional proficiency in English; Proficiency in German is preferred but not required; knowledge of additional languages also preferred 
  • Ability to empathize with the experience of international members of the TU Wien community; own experience living, working, or studying abroad is strongly preferred 
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including students, staff, and guests  
  • Knowledge of digital media software such as Adobe InDesign, Canva, Final Cut Pro, or Adobe Premiere is preferred, but not required
  • Experience with event management and content creation preferred

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade C of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 1,379.60/month gross, 14 times/year for 20 hours/week.
