At the Institute of Materials Science and Technology, in the Research Group for Structural Polymers TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant post-doc (all genders) limited to expected 6 years for 40 hours/week. Expected start: February 2026.
Tasks:
- Research activities in the field of polymer materials and polymer recycling
- Teaching and participation in examinations
- Preparation of project proposals and execution of projects
- Publication activities
- Participation in and organization of scientific events
- Supervision of students
- Assistance with organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures
Your profile:
- Doctoral degree in the field of industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, plastics technology, materials science or technical physics, chemistry, recycling technology, environmental and climate protection technology, or equivalent university studies
- In-depth expertise in the field of polymer materials, particularly in the areas of thermal analysis, materials testing, and polymer recycling, as well as waste management
- Additional knowledge in waste management and life cycle assessment (LCA) is desirable
- Experience in in project management
- Ability to develop methods and concepts as well as their realization and evaluation and the willingness to contribute in interdisciplinary scientific projects
- Experience in teaching and publication activities
- German language skills - minimum level B2 according to CEFR
- Good skills in English is required
- Interest and pleasure in research and working with students
- Ability to work in a team, problem-solving skills and very good communication skills

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 4,932.90/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
