University Assistant Prae-Doc (all genders)
30 hours/week | limited to 4 years
At the Institute of Chemical Technologies and Analytics, in the Research Group for Surface Analytics, Trace Analytics and Chemometry TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: October 2025.
Tasks:
• Committed collaboration in the preparation and implementation of associated research projects
• Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks of the research group
• Supervision of students in laboratory exercises for the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Technical Chemistry in German and English
• Organizational and administrative support for various teaching tasks in German and English - seminars, lectures and examination
• Deepen scientific knowledge
• Participation in scientific events (e.g. conferences, ...)
• Preparing a doctoral thesis and publications
Your profile:
• Completed master's or diploma degree in chemistry or equivalent university degree in Austria or abroad
• Excellent knowledge in the analytical characterization of nanoparticles (elemental composition, particle size, size distribution, ...)
• Practical experience in the analysis of solid samples using LA-ICP-MS
• Proficiency in scientific programming (e.g., Python)
• In-depth knowledge in the field of statistical data analysis
• Ability to work in a team, problem-solving skills and innovative ability
• Excellent proficiency in German (B2) and English (B2)
• Interest in research in the subject area and in working with students

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,786.10/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
