University Assistant (Prae-Doc)
30 hours/week | limited to 4 years

The Research Unit Building Construction and Building Adaptation of the Institute of Building Construction and Industrial Construction at TU Wien offers a position for a University Assistant (prae-doc) with 30 hours per week, expected for a period of 4 years, starting on May 2026.
Tasks:
- Research into collaborative robotics, in digital design, manufacturing technologies and system design
- To be part of a thriving team building the Center for Digital Fabrication for Structures and Systems at the TU Wien Science Center
- Research and project activities
- Teaching and student support
- Assisting in the supervision of diploma theses
- Writing scientific publications (journal and conference papers, dissertation)
- Participation in scientific events
- Assistance with organisational and administrative tasks
Your profile:
- Completed master's or diploma degree in civil engineering or architecture with special knowledge in building construction
- Particular interest in digital design, manufacturing techniques such as additive manufacturing and systemic processes (previous experience is an advantage)
- Skills in parametric modelling and programming (Advanced Experience in Software Systems like Rhino/Grasshopper, Python, Robotstudio, Compas_RRC is an advantage)
- Ability to work across disciplines
- Highly interested in academic research and teaching
- Excellent skills in German and English communication and writing
- Advanced problem solving skills and scientific curiosity
- Team player with excellent communication skills

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,832.10/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
