At the Institute of Visual Computing and Human-Centered Technology, in the Research Unit of Computer Graphics TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant prae-doc (all genders) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: immediately.
Tasks:
- Collaboration on research and teaching tasks as well as examinations
- Research and project activity
- Writing a dissertation and publications
- Participation in scientific events
- Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks
Your profile:
- Completion of a master or diploma curriculum in computer science or similar
- Very good knowledge in visualization, visual computing, and / or human-computer interaction
- Interest and / or experience in interactive data analysis and visualization (e.g., interactive simulation and visualization, human-AI collaboration for visual data analysis, perception in visualization)
- Very good skills in programming (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C++, WebGPU, Vulkan, OpenGL, CUDA, or similar)
- Interest in student supervision; prior involvement in teaching (e.g., tutoring) is a plus
- Very good skills in English communication and writing; Knowledge of German (level B1) or willingness to learn in the first year
- Very good communicative skills and ability to work as an independent and flexible researcher in an international team

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,832.10/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
